TrailTrust (“TrailTrust,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is designed to help users record, review, and privately manage outdoor routes, place memories, and related photos on their own devices. This Privacy Policy explains what information TrailTrust handles, how it is used, when it may be shared, and what choices users have.​

By using TrailTrust, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

Overview​

TrailTrust is built with a privacy-first approach. Based on the current app design:​

•
route records, place memories, share packages, settings, and related metadata are stored locally on the user’s device;​

•
photos saved by the app are processed to remove embedded location metadata before they are stored by TrailTrust;​

•
Apple Watch status sync is used only to support recording controls and status display between the paired iPhone and Apple Watch;​

•
TrailTrust does not require a user account to use the app’s core features;​

•
TrailTrust does not include advertising SDKs or cross-app tracking in the current app design.​

Information We Handle​

Depending on how you use TrailTrust, the app may handle the following categories of information:​

a. Location Information

TrailTrust may access:

•
precise location;​

•
approximate location;​

•
background location while an active route recording is in progress, if you grant the relevant permission.​

This information is used to:

•
record private outdoor routes;​

•
show your current position on the map;​

•
support follow-along and replay-related route features;​

•
improve route continuity and route quality indicators;​

•
enable route start/end privacy masking and place-based privacy protections.​

b. Route and Activity Data

TrailTrust may create and store:

•
route points and timestamps;​

•
distance, duration, speed, and related route metrics;​

•
route mode selections such as hiking, running, riding, or driving;​

•
route titles, notes, and route quality indicators;​

•
imported GPX or KML route data.​

c. Place Memories and Frequent Place Data

If you use place-related features, TrailTrust may store:

•
place titles;​

•
place coordinates;​

•
visit counts or related route context;​

•
privacy radius information used to help mask sensitive places before sharing.​

d. Photos and Photo Attachments

If you take or attach photos in TrailTrust, the app may handle:

•
the image file you capture or select;​

•
a thumbnail generated by the app;​

•
a local watermark overlay containing time and coordinate information, if you use camera capture features that add such a watermark.​

In the current app design, TrailTrust removes GPS and EXIF location metadata from processed photos before saving them into the app’s local storage.​

e. Share and Export Data

If you choose to share or export content, TrailTrust may create:

•
privacy-masked route data;​

•
share package metadata;​

•
local export files such as GPX or KML;​

•
user-entered share notes intended for recipients.​

Sharing is user-initiated. TrailTrust does not publish your routes automatically.​
